What is Your Time Worth?- Finger Financial Five #216

FFF 216

“If you are rich, you have money. If you are wealthy, you have time.”

I had the privilege of talking one-on-one with a former Fortune 500 CEO for over one hour. My questions were geared toward “how” you think to make decisions.

His answer?

Simplify and prioritize.

What are the most important things you must get right to succeed?

Most, like myself, may write down 10 things or more. Choose the top two and delegate or delete the other 8. Focus on those top two.

When thinking of your “top twos,” there are different areas.

In the book, 5 Types of Wealth by Sahill Bloom, the types are:

  1. Time
  2. Social
  3. Mental
  4. Physical
  5. Financial

Let’s discuss Time Wealth.

Time spent with friends, family, and children drops dramatically as we age.

Time spent with your spouse, work, and alone goes up as you age.

The takeaway is that you should cherish your moments with your friends, family, and children. They don’t last long enough.

Choose VERY CAREFULLY the type of work you do and who you do it with. You spend a lot of time here.

The MOST IMPORTANT decision you can make is who you choose to spend your life with.

There is a big difference between loneliness and solitude. You can be alone and not feel lonely. Loneliness is a loss of connection that leads to pain. Solitude is connecting with yourself, which leads to emotional recharge.

How are you spending your time?

Any regrets?

Any of these points resonate with you?
